Creating a Book
Working with Amie Rai, the task was to create a unique display that projects randomly generated pages of text. The content of each page needed to be generated on the fly by picking sentences at random (from a series of existing ebooks) to construct the new paragraphs of text.
Writing the Program
The selection criteria for picking sentences was very specific. It involved using every date throughout the duration of the First World War as a number to count through the sentences of the ebooks. The whole thing was programmed from scratch; from identifying the sentences in ebooks, to drawing the final sentences on screen.
